Objectives Include
Academic Assistance
Provides positive reinforcement for youth by offering after school tutoring, homework assistance, and computer training. Incentives are given for improved performance in academics and school attendance.
Recreation, Sport, Cultural, and Artistic Activities
Provides forums and opportunities through group sessions and collaborations with Seward Park/Chicago Park District; Chicago Police Department; Chicago Department of Youth Services; and the Chicago Public Schools.
Young Adult and Mentors
Adults maintain ongoing dialogue with students by offering support, encouragement, reinforcement, and self-esteem building through 1:1.
Life Skills Education
Continuing and/or completing their education (GED or college); computer training; employment skill building and faith-based financial literacy. Youth are introduced to savings at the third grade level.
